Mmm...Pancakes!

One down and 29 to go! Last night (or early this past morning, depending on your perspective), I knocked off #25 on my list! That's right, I ate pancakes at Uncle Bill's. How I managed to go this long without going to a place that's open 24 hours and within 5 miles of my house is beyond me. Regardless, I'm glad I was finally able to enjoy the experience!

At the glorious hour of 2am, after an eventful night watching Steve Ewing perform at the Tin Can, my friends Diane and Andrew were game for helping me to cross my first item off my list. I ordered one of the specials, the "Supreme 2 x 2 x 2 x 2", which consisted of two eggs, two pancakes, two strips of bacon, two sausage links and hash browns. Essentially, way too many calories than anyone needs to be consuming at 2:00 in the morning.

My review? Freakin' awesome. Courtesy Diner now has some competition for my late night/early morning I've-been-out-and-need-food-business. Good stuff!

Here I Go!

As many of you know, I've had the idea of creating a "30 Before 30" list for some time now, but have spent the past few weeks brainstorming what I should actually put on my list. I've solicited the help of a lot of friends in the process, all of whom have helped me to sort out what I want to sign myself up for in the next 15-1/2 months. Overall, it's been a fun process...thinking about all the fun things I want to accomplish in the near future. I'm happy to say that my list was up to 50+ potential goals at one point. Narrowing the list down was the hardest part. (But I already have quite a few to put towards a future "40 Before 40" list!)

For full disclosure, this list is my attempt to make turning 30 a little less scary for me. Not that I anticipate freaking out or am dreading turning 30. (In fact, I'd like to think I've accomplished and experienced my fair share of awesome activities in my twenties.) I just don't want to get to my 30th birthday and look back on what I've done and be dissatisfied. I think it's my nature as a true perfectionist to never really be satisfied, so this may be a futile mission...but I can at least try!

Besides debating what to put on my list, I've also debated whether to make my blog public or private. My initial thoughts were to only share this with a select group of people who would motivate me and could help me to cross things off my list. However after much perusing of similar blogs on the internet, I realize how powerful support from others can be and have decided to make my blog public. Therefore whether you're family, friend, or random stranger, I welcome you to follow me on my journey! My hope is that you will motivate me to achieve what I've challenged myself to accomplish and perhaps in the process I'll motivate you to pursue your own fun goals. :-)

As I update my blog, I'll try to add a countdown snapshot of how much time remains to the BIG DAY. Here's the first official timestamp:
